I want to be clear: this new MacBook Pro display is not bad per se, it’s just not as good as the other recent MacBooks’ screens. I have not seen the new MacBook Air in person, but it uses the same Mini LED display technology as the 2021 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, so the Air’s screen will likely be similarly superior to the 13-inch MacBook Pro’s LCD display.
